In a press release released by Samsung, it has announced to discontinue the Galaxy Note 7 permanently. Samsung and Cellistan requests their users to power off all their Note 7, the original and the new safe replaced models. The retailers on the other hand, are requested to discontinue sales or any exchanges.
‘’We are working with relevant regulatory bodies to investigate the recently reported cases involving the Galaxy Note7.’’
According to more sources, the news if yet to become official. The decision came with cooperation of Government of United States, Korea and China.
We are yet to see how will Samsung handle this re call program and how will the existing customers be compensated. Samsung for now has done what it could, it tried replacing the original models, however, after the new safer model also showed battery exploding problems, most particularly the incident on Southwest Airline Flight 994. Pulling the plug out completely on Galaxy Note 7 looks like a good decision.
Cellistan wishes Samsung for a better quarter ahead and a greater smartphone launch in Pakistan.
